Bi-weekly tips, habits, and practice guide for building a better back—improving poor posture that is making you look (& feel) old.
GOOD MORNING
Morning, Friends!
Over the last few issues, we’ve covered a lot of ground (pun intended) about your feet: why they matter more than you think, the problems that can appear when they start complaining, and how your arches quietly influence everything farther up the chain - your knees, hips, back, and posture.
Before we move into our final “put it into practice” issue, I want to pause with you for a moment. We’ve been talking about feet in general; today, we’re turning our attention to your feet.
Consider this your bonus foot-health check-in: just you, your feet, and a few minutes of honest attention. Let’s see what they’ve been trying to tell you.
CORE MOVES
The 60-Second Foot Check-In

Take off your shoes and socks and stand up - Yes, right now, if you can!
Then ask yourself:
Is my weight centered between my heels, big-toe joints, and little-toe joint?
Do my toes rest naturally, or do they grip the floor?
Do my arches lower excessively as I stand, or do they remain unusually high and rigid?
Does one foot behave differently from the other?
Can I lift my toes without shifting my weight?
You don’t need to “pass” this check-in, and it isn’t meant to diagnose a foot condition. It’s simply an awareness exercise - the same first step I would have you take in a session with me.
After all, you can’t change what you haven’t noticed.
INNER SHIFT
Stop Judging Your Feet
Here’s the mindset shift I want you to walk away with today: your feet aren’t “bad,” weak, ugly, or broken.
Bunions, stiff toes, lowered arches, and calluses aren’t a verdict. They're information, and information becomes useful when you stop judging it and start getting curious about it.
Your feet don’t need judgement. They need attention, movement, and a little more support.
If today’s check-in revealed something you didn’t love, that isn’t a problem to hide from. It’s simply data your body was waiting to give you.
WHAT WE’RE WORKING ON
Your Foot-to-Posture Connection

Now let’s connect your feet to everything we’ve discussed in this series. Try this mini experiment:
Stand naturally and notice your posture. Don’t force anything: observe how you actually stand.
Feel the three points of each foot: your heel, big-toe, and little-toe joint.
Gently lengthen upward through the crown of your head.
Notice what happens next. Do your knees soften or lock? Do your hips shift? Do your ribs or shoulders reorganize?
The Peak Posture System philosophy in one small experiment.
TRY THIS THIS WEEK
CONDUCT A SHOE AUDIT

Since we can’t always be barefoot, let’s look at the thing most likely to affect your foot awareness the moment you walk out the door: your shoes.
Grab the pair you wear the most often and take a closer look:
Is one heel worn down more than the other?
Is the toe box wide enough to let your toes spread?
Does the shoe bend near the ball of the foot, where your foot naturally bends, or does it fold and twist through the middle?
Are you choosing this shoe for your actual feet or mostly for how it looks?
Do your feet feel better or worse after wearing it for a few hours?
A supportive walking shoe should generally allow movement through the forefoot without collapsing through the middle.
You don’t necessarily need new shoes to complete this exercise. You just need honest eyes. This simple audit often creates one of the biggest “aha” moments for the clients I work with.
WORTH KNOWING: Your Feet Are Adaptable
Here’s the encouraging part: regardless of your age or how long you’ve been ignoring your feet, you can still improve their awareness, mobility, and strength.
And you don’t need a long, complicated workout to begin making a difference. Small, consistent practices, the kind we’ve been building issues by issue, matter far more than an occasional deep-dive session.
In our final installment, we’ll bring everything together with simple practices to wake up your feet, support your arches, and build better posture from the ground up.
I’m also preparing two special follow-along foot-care videos so you can stop simply reading about your feet and start experiencing what focused foot work can actually do.
Quick question: What did your feet tell you during today’s check-in?
Hit reply and let me know - I read every one.
Keep moving,
